How to Help Hurting People

Do you like helping people? Do you often find yourself in situations with people in emotional, personal or relational crisis or transitions? Maybe you are a gifted encourager, caring helper or counselor and desire to be a more effective people helper in your church or organization. “How to Help Hurting People” is a one day seminar designed to provide basic information about christian counseling. This seminar is ideal for those who have a desire to become christian counselors.

 


Seminar Overview

Registration/Welcome

9:00-10:30 a.m. Why People Need Help (Training Introduction): Overview of Mental Health
issues and crisis situations.

Break 10:30-10:45

10:45-12 (noon) REAL Helping Skills: Learning to: reach with discernment (identify issues),
express empathy, assist and lead hurting people to resources. When to Refer.

Lunch 12-1 p.m.

1-2:15 p.m. Christian Counseling and Confidentiality Pitfalls

2:15-2:30 p.m. Break

2:30-3 p.m. Major Legal and Ethical Guidelines for pastors, church leaders and lay helpers.

3-4:00 p.m.. Role-Plays and Case Scenarios

  • All those who attend this seminar will receive 6 CEU’s
  • This seminar will not certify you as a christian counselor. You must enroll in our certified christian counseling program to become a certified christian counselor.

 


 

5 Day Facilitator Christian Counseling Center Facilitator Training

This training is for churches, ministries and religious organizations that desire to run and operate an NACC Christian Counseling Center. This is a great way to create additional revenue for your church, ministry or organization along with being able to provide much needed training in the area of Christian Counseling. The length of this training is normally 15 weeks. We have accelerated this training in order to train facilitators to be able to teach and or run and operate an NACC Christian Counseling Center that are located outside of the state of Texas.
